Club
NASA Soccer is a local not-for-profit youth soccer organization run by a small leadership team and dedicated volunteers who are passionate about helping children enjoy playing the beautiful game of soccer. Each year, around 2,000 children ages 3-19 across the Austin area play soccer with North Austin Soccer Alliance. We remain committed to giving back to the community and keeping soccer affordable for every age and skill level. NASA supports many local schools through Partners in Education, our school-team sponsorship programs, and by maintaining the fields on which we play. We never turn away a child for inability to pay. Financial aid is available for players who need assistance to participate.
Players
No matter the age or competition level, North Austin Soccer keeps the focus on players having fun while learning to play and develop through the game of soccer. Soccer is a wonderful social and recreational sport that can be played with any number of players, and minimal equipment. Give your child the foundation for a lifetime love of play, social engagement and fitness opportunities, playing the world's most popular sport!
Coaches
Our coaches are all parent and community volunteers. At the start of every season, we partner with local veteran coaches to offer a Coaches' Clinic for new or beginner coaches who want support. All coaches are encouraged to take USYS grassroots coaching courses, and many continue on to take more advanced coaching licenses. NASA Soccer has reimbursement programs for current volunteers pursuing coaching education. Don't let the kids have all the fun — join in, get your steps in, and enjoy being part of your team's training, growth and development.
Managers
Coaches can't do it all on their own — team parents are expected to volunteer to help keep each team organized and running smoothly. Our volunteer managers play an essential role by assisting coaches with team communication, scheduling, and snack coordination. They help simplify group participation so coaches can stay focused on the kids on the field.
Teams
Whether your child is joining to make new friends or bringing an entire group to form a team, NASA Soccer has a spot for them to play! Your child's practice day, time, and location are set by their volunteer coach. NASA believes every player — regardless of experience or ability — can enjoy learning to play the game of soccer. We emphasize player development and good sportsmanship over winning at all costs. Every player should expect to play at least 50% of every game. U5-U10 (In-House D4 Program), NASA uses a small-sided game format so players get plenty of touches and opportunities to make good decisions with the ball at their feet. For U10 and younger: practice once per week, with NASA in-house games on Saturday mornings at our local fields. U11-U19 (D3/D2/S2 League Program), older NASA teams compete in CAYSA leagues, playing 9v9 to 11v11 full-sided soccer against other area clubs in - and around - the greater-Austin area. NASA promotes our grassroots teams into higher competitive brackets as they earn advancement through league play. For U11 and older: practices may be once or twice per week with league games on Saturday or Sundays, with Home and Away travel across the greater-Austin area.
Referees
If you love the sport and want to earn money for your soccer knowledge, becoming a certified referee is one of the most rewarding ways to support the game. NASA Soccer hires certified referees to officiate matches across our programs each season, offering flexible scheduling and competitive pay. We also operate a Youth Referee Program employing and training more than 40+ young referees ages 12-19 each season. Our youth referees officiate games in the D4 in-house program, gaining confidence, leadership skills, and real work experience in a supportive environment. Youth Referee program veterans are encouraged to earn certification to begin officiating older age groups in league play. Whether you're an adult who loves the game or a soccer-loving teen looking for a great first job, NASA Soccer has a spot for you on our referee team.
Volunteers
Our coaches and managers are all parent and community volunteers. Every volunteer is KidSafe certified, completing a background check and required safety courses to ensure a safe, supportive playing environment for every team. Our volunteers are the backbone of each season — working together to keep soccer running smoothly and communicating any needs, issues and improvement suggestions to the leadership team.
